ABOUT CoRe

SDB Collaborative Resources

SDB Collaborative Resources (CoRe) is an online reference database of peer-reviewed images, movies, and diagrams for learning and teaching developmental biology from the Society for Developmental Biology.  SDB CoRe was developed in response to the needs of the SDB membership for an easily-searchable collection of developmental biology visuals and an authoritative source for information on development.  SDB CoRe is free and open for specialists and non-specialists alike.

Benefits of SDB Membership

While all CoRe materials are open to the public, SDB student, postdoctoral, and full members are eligible to contribute content to CoRe.  In addition, SDB members can download high-resolution images and movies from CoRe.  This access requires logging in to My CoRe with your email address.  Visit the SDB website to learn more about the benefits of SDB membership and to join or renew your membership.

Partners

The Society for Developmental Biology has partnered with WIREs Developmental Biology, a new online review journal from Wiley-Blackwell.  To facilitate learning developmental biology, WIREs Developmental Biology review articles will be linked to relevant CoRe objects that support their understanding.  Conversely, CoRe objects will link to related WIREs Developmental Biology articles allowing users to explore a topic more deeply.

SDB continues to support the Library of Educational Annotated DEvelopmental biology Resources (LEADER), a collection of teaching resources linked to the BioSciEd Net (BEN) and the National Science Digital Library (NSDL).  SDB CoRe will provide links to pertinent LEADER resources.

This is where I will test a link to a glossary term, compartment. Another link to glossary term: gap genes.
